Asking around.. you'll likely get several different answers when it comes to whether it is worth raising chickens.
My advice is.. buck up and DO IT!
Spending time with our little fuzzy bum girls is one of our favourite pastimes on the farm!
They offer....fresh eggs every morning, fertilizer for the garden, and free entertainment all day long! Anytime I find myself feeling a little stressed I walk over and watch a little live feathered action!
-Farm Therapy.. honestly.. watching a chicken look for grub, swiping with there feet and then lunging forward eyes pealed... over and over... have you ever seen a chicken in a full out sprint?? I can't begin to explain! It's the most unexpected and funniest things to witness!
We started out with 4 chickens last spring and now we are up to 24! 2 turning out to be roosters..We'll be collecting close to 12 dozen rainbow coloured eggs every week come February!
-Buying new chicks.. jump in with two feet and just do it! Watching them grow day to day and finding there currage is so inspiring**
-You will start taking a dozen eggs to dinner parties (forget the flowers) and be soon invited to more.. thats why you need more chickens..!
